Tarun Bhambhani

Tarun Bhambhani is Director of Flotation at Newmont Corporation in the Technical Services team. In this role he works on recovery modeling for all plants/projects/studies in the Newmont Portfolio of assets, solving recovery issues with problematic ores, and flotation technology evaluation and implementation. Prior to this role, he was Director, Technology and Applications Excellence at Syensqo, where worked for over 18 years, designing, developing and commercializing novel flotation reagent technologies. He holds 6 sets of patents and has co-authored over 40 journal and conference papers. He was awarded the Outstanding Young Engineer (2013) and the President’s Citation (2025) from the Society of Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration (SME), has served on the executive committee of its Minerals and Metallurgical Processing Division (MPD) and organized several technical symposia and conferences, most notably the International Mineral Processing Congress (IMPC 2024). He was a graduate of the Class of 2006, and holds Masters and PhD degrees from Columbia University.
