Andrew Bishop

Andrew W. (Drew) Bishop is the Vice President of Strategy and Portfolio within ExxonMobil Upstream effective July, 2026. In this role he leads strategy development and portfolio analysis to set and prioritize direction for the business. Drew moves to the Vice President role after leading the redesign of the Upstream Business organization over the last year.
Before these assignments, Drew was the Development Manager for the Permian Basin and subsequently Guyana. These two developments are the largest and most strategic for ExxonMobil’s long term growth and profitability. Before taking these Development Manger roles, he served as the Senior Advisor for Opportunity Evaluation within ExxonMobil Corporation, living in Dallas, TX. In this role he supported the Chairman, Management Committee (MC) and business lines in major decisions related to investments, divestments and acquisitions.
Before moving to Dallas, Drew was the Global Upstream Development Planning Manager: Deepwater where he directed the development concepts for major projects around the world. Linked to this role, he spent a short while as the Brazil E&P Manager in the Mergers & Acquisitions organization.
Throughout his 27 year career with ExxonMobil, he has held a variety of business and technical leadership roles both domestically and internationally (Australia, Angola, Norway, and United Kingdom).
Drew is a Virginia Tech graduate with a degree in Mining and Minerals Engineering and currently chairs the department’s advisory board. He also has a degree in English and has pursued advanced studies in Business Administration at Tulane University.
Drew is a published children’s author, outdoorsman, sailor and philanthropist focused on supporting Virginia Tech and The Champion Project. He and his wife Deborah are based in The Woodlands, Texas, where they are raising their two boys, William and Thomas.
