Craig Hairfield

Craig is a mining executive with over 20 years of international experience across a wide variety of commodities with his travels taking him to over 50 countries. His career started in mining engineering and transitioned to mining finance in 2011 when he became an investment professional at Resource Capital Funds, a leading mining-focused private equity firm. Craig left RCF in 2018 to start his own advisory firm, assisting clients in the areas of M&A and business strategy. Most recently, Craig co-founded Atlantic Strategic Minerals (“ASM”) and led the process to complete a +$50M equity financing and acquire Iluka Resources’ heavy mineral sands mining and processing operations in Virginia. The ASM team has grown to over 55 people (as of September 2024) and is steadily progressing towards operational restart in late 2024. Craig is responsible for ASM’s corporate strategy, business development, fundraising, government relations and sales/marketing initiatives. Craig is a Virginia native with a B.S. in Mining Engineering from Virginia Tech (2005) and an MBA from William & Mary (2010).
