Kristin Sweeney
- U.S. Aggregates
Kristin Sweeney, a 2006 graduate of Virginia Tech's Department of Mining and Minerals Engineering, currently serves as director of operations for U.S. Aggregates in Indiana. She leads the aggregate plants, which produce in excess of nine million tons of aggregates per year.
Before joining U.S. Aggregates, Sweeney spent her career working for CRH, most often with Pennsy Supply in Pennsylvania. During her tenure with CRH, she had a diversity of roles in operations, sales, and performance management. Most recently, she served as area manager for east operations at Pennsy Supply.
Sweeney was also very involved with the local Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration chapter in Pennsylvania, where she served as a board member and as chairwoman. During her time with the SME Penn-Anthracite section, she helped focus on strategic planning and membership.
This diverse background has given Sweeney experience in all areas of aggregates operations, with a focus on performance management and leadership development. She strives to help her teams achieve success both personally and professionally.
Sweeney lives in Indianapolis, Indiana, with her husband, Patrick, and two children: Sophia, 8, and Noah, 5.
